The short version. deskMonk is a desktop app that cleans storage, encrypts files, maps your disk and runs a focus timer. It is free to use every day within daily limits. Pro removes the limits for $2.50 a month or $25 a year and covers up to three of your computers. Keep your Vault passwords safe: nobody, including us, can open a vault without its password.

1. Who you are contracting with

These terms are an agreement between you and Mehmet Bilen, İnebolu Sokak No: 45, Daire: 6, Kabataş, Beyoğlu, İstanbul, Türkiye ("we", "us"), the maker of deskMonk. They apply when you download, install or use the deskMonk application and when you buy deskMonk Pro. If you do not agree with them, do not install or use the app.

2. What the app does

deskMonk runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. It scans the folders you choose and shows duplicates, junk files, old downloads and large files; you decide what is removed. Files are moved to the Trash, except files in the Junk category, which are deleted permanently. It also encrypts files and folders into a Vault, shows a disk map and your hardware, tests disk speed, runs a focus timer (Monk mode) and, in the version from our website, can put a password in front of apps you choose (App lock).

3. The free plan and Pro

The app is free to install and use. The free plan cleans up to 2 GB a day, encrypts up to 3 files or folders a day of up to 200 MB each, and locks 1 app. The counts reset at your local midnight. Opening a vault is never limited.

deskMonk Pro removes these limits. It costs $2.50 per month or $25 per year. Taxes, where they apply, are calculated and shown at checkout, so the amount you are charged is shown before you pay.

4. What a Pro license gives you

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use deskMonk Pro for the period you have paid for, on up to three computers. Your license key is yours: do not publish it or share it so that other people can use Pro without paying. If you need to move Pro to a new computer and all three places are used, write to us and we will free them.

5. Billing and renewal

Pro bought on our website is a subscription sold through Paddle, which acts as reseller and merchant of record for the sale; Paddle's buyer terms also apply to the payment. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the app (⭐ Pro → Manage subscription) or by writing to us; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for and are not charged again. If a renewal payment fails, Pro ends when the paid period ends and the app returns to the free plan. Nothing is deleted.

Pro bought in the Mac App Store is an Apple subscription. Apple bills it, and Apple's Media Services Terms apply to the purchase, renewal, cancellation and refunds.

6. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is part of these terms.

7. Your files and the Vault

deskMonk works on files on your own computer, and you decide what is removed or encrypted. Check the list before you clean; the app shows it to you for that reason. Keep backups of anything important.

The Vault encrypts with your password, which deskMonk never stores or sends anywhere. If you forget a vault's password, the vault cannot be opened, by you or by us.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to work around the daily limits, the license check or the computer limit, or help anyone else to; not to resell, sublicense or redistribute a license key; and not to attack, overload or probe our servers, or use them other than through the app. The app's source code is published, and you may read, build and change it for your own use under the license its repository states.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep our license service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. Pro keeps working for up to a week without reaching us. We may change the app and these terms; if a change materially reduces what a current Pro subscription gives you, it will not apply to a period you have already paid for. Changed terms are posted here with a new date.

10. Ending this agreement

You may stop using the app at any time. We may end a license if these terms are seriously breached, in particular section 8; where the breach is not serious we will contact you first. If we end a license for a reason that is not your breach, we refund the unused part of the period.

11. Disclaimer and liability

Except where the law says otherwise, the app is provided "as is", without a warranty that it will be error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, including files you chose to remove and vaults whose password is lost. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app or a license is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or rights you have as a consumer.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Türkiye, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings there.
